The Friends of Newfound Football would like to welcome you to the 2009 season. Thank you for volunteering your time and providing local youth with an opportunity to participate in a team sport, which is enjoyed by all of us. We are looking forward to great season. Our mission is to help the youths in our community in becoming responsible adults. Football is merely a tool being used to accomplish this task.
In this game, players are taught that giving of themselves for their teammates is essential for success. Please be sure to provide any questions or concerns early on so we can start our season organized and prepared.
If you feel that there is equipment or supplies needed, please make a list of items and turn it in to the President or a board member. We will see that the necessary items are taken care of and anything that may be considered extra will be discussed at the following board meeting. If funds are available, those items may be purchased.
Thanks again for sharing your time with our youth. Inspiration, Commitment, Community, that is what Newfound Football is all about!
Coaches Philosophy
The coaches philosophy should always be for EVERY PLAYER PARTICIPATES. Every child will participate during every game or practice, unless they did not fully participate or missed several. Coaches may choose to use a minimum play rule. EMPHASIS ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT.
The JR Bears Football Program will emphasize the pleasure of skill development and physical fitness and avoid preoccupation with winning and perfectionism. SPORTSMANSHIP. Coaches, players and spectators are representatives of Newfound Football and are EXPECTED to act accordingly (i.e., in a professional, responsible manner) at all related functions, fundraisers, games and practices. RULES. This program will use NHIAA rules that apply as a guideline, with local adoptions by Granite State Football League. Team Etiquette
There will be ABSOLUTELY no swearing. Players are not allowed to question referees' calls or comments. The officials should be treated with respect at all times by players and coaches. Players are expected to be courteous and respectful to any and all opposite team players, parents and coaches, as well as their own coaches, teammates and parents and board members. Players are responsible for cleaning up their practice area and bench areas after each game. There will be no unsportsmanlike like behavior tolerated. Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco and firearms, lasers, knives, etc., are prohibited at all times.
